"FRIDAY, Jan. 22, 2:30 p.m. — A 44-year-old male contractor working on the Newing College Dining Hall construction reported having been harassed by a 44-year-old male Binghamton University employee repeatedly since November 2009, Investigator Dennis P. Bush of Binghamton’s New York State University Police said. According to the contractor, who is from outside of Binghamton, the suspect accused him of taking jobs from the local area. No action has yet been taken.

SATURDAY, Jan. 23, 9:46 p.m. — Officers responded to a call from Rafuse Hall in Dickinson Community after a female member of Residential Life reported the smell of marijuana emanating from a dorm room, Bush said. When the officers arrived they found the 19-year-old male resident of the room standing down the hall. They asked him to come over and open the door, and he obliged. The officers found that the smell of marijuana was indeed strong within the dorm room and asked the suspect if he had been smoking. The suspect denied it, but admitted to possession and produced a small plastic bag of marijuana as well as two marijuana-packed cigarettes. In spite of his cooperation, the suspect refused to state from whom he had acquired the substance. The marijuana was destroyed. The suspect has no previous offenses and has been referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

SUNDAY, Jan. 24, 5:25 p.m. — A 28-year-old male student reported that a 30-year-old female had been harassing him via phone messages and electronic communication, Bush said. Reportedly, the suspect and victim had been speaking electronically for some time when the suspect pursued a relationship; the feeling was not shared by the victim, who declined. The suspect then began calling him via both landline and cell phone, leaving threatening messages when he did not pick up. Although the victim sent her an e-mail stating his lack of desire in no uncertain terms, the suspect left him another message stating that she would arrive on campus at a later date to speak to him in person. The victim declined prosecution."
