"Governor George E. Pataki visited the city of Binghamton yesterday morning to join local officials in unveiling the design for the new downtown Education and Community Development Center.

The new center, to be located on Washington Street, will feature classrooms, conference rooms, offices and computer resources, and will serve both BU and BCC.

New York State provided a $29 million for the project.

The Governor joined University President Lois B. DeFleur, Senator Thomas Libous and Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo for the presentation, held at the State Office Building on Hawley Street."
